I had the privilege to attend a 1 week retreat in August. The staff (Oliver, Jenna, and others) are humble and truly care about your experience. It was a challenging yet very rewarding week, and I grew closer to other participants as the retreat progressed.
The plant medicine and shamanic healing has allowed me to make positive lifestyle changes. It allows for healing of generational trauma and childhood wounds. Taking part in a retreat of this nature can be scary or daunting, but it’s very much worth it coming out the other side.

… What I appreciated most was having the time and space to look behind the mask of my ego, to identify the true causes of my challenges, and to experience profound healing. This retreat was not only a spiritual journey but also a return to my true self.

My 7-day retreat has been a true paradigm shift as well as a challenging yet rewarding journey. I’m proud of the way that myself and other brave souls managed to challenge our minds and bodies in ways unimaginable. Doing inner work is NEVER easy, but the only way out is always through. I thank Oliver, Kevin, Jenna, Vanessa, and everyone else who contributed to my divine experience. Food is well-balanced and can accommodate your diet. I strongly recommend 4 ceremonies instead of 2, as you may not connect with the medicine right away. Namaste 🙏🏼

I came after many therapies that only helped temporarily, and—with Oliver’s guidance, thoughtful preparation, and a welcoming environment—the first ceremony steadied me while the second became a breakthrough where decades of pain released. I left replacing hate with love, finding forgiveness and real peace, and I’m grateful to the team and eager to return with my son.

Stories - 1001 Nights of Ayahuasca

Processing Grief
Before:
Struggled grieving the death of my father. Limited by bad habits and self-deprecating thoughts.
AFTER:
HUGE progress made in grieving process
Improved capacity for self-love
Discipline in previously difficult areas of my life

I truly can't overstate the impact Ayauhuasca has had on my life. My relationships are grounded in the lessons I've been learning in the ceremony. My path forward is guided by these revelations.

I am more calm, more conscientious, more patient. I am not immune to life's obstacles; however, I am better equipped to manage them because hope and gratitude are much more accessible to me.

Most profoundly, I feel a stronger sense of purpose in life.

Letting Go
Before:
Holding on to fears and patterns, strong victim complex. Inclintation to maintain control.
AFTER:
Healing my nervous system and relationship with fears
Able to start letting go - it's a process
I can see how I manifest my own victimhood

Attending the Harmonica retreat was one of the most profound and enlightening experiences of my life. While the work was undeniably intense and at times deeply confronting, it was exactly what my spirit needed. This was not a vacation—it was a sacred journey inward, one that asked me to face my fears, release old patterns, and truly surrender to the medicine. And in that surrender, something powerful shifted. I feel like I left a version of myself behind and returned more aligned with who I truly am 🌱.

One of the most beautiful takeaways was the bonds I formed with other participants. The shared vulnerability and intention of the group created a deep sense of connection that I will carry with me always. Lifelong connections were formed, and I felt truly seen in ways I never have before 💫.

This retreat taught me that healing is not always gentle, but it is always sacred. The path to reintegration begins the moment you surrender. For anyone considering this work, my advice is to come with an open heart, clear intentions, and a willingness to let go of everything you think you know. Trust the facilitators. Trust the medicine. Trust yourself. You will not leave the same person you arrived as 🕊️.

Thank you, Harmonica, for holding me through such a transformational chapter. I am forever grateful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an Ayahuasca Retreat safe for healing trauma?

When conducted in a professional setting with experienced facilitators, Ayahuasca can be a safe and effective tool for trauma healing. Safety depends on several factors: proper medical screening beforehand, experienced guides who understand trauma work, a supportive environment, and comprehensive integration support after ceremonies.

It’s essential to work with facilitators who create a safe container, respect your boundaries, and provide the necessary support throughout your journey. People with certain mental health conditions or taking specific medications should consult with medical professionals before participating.

Ayahuasca works with trauma on multiple levels. It helps you access and process suppressed emotions and memories that may be too painful to approach in normal consciousness. The medicine creates a safe internal space to witness your experiences. It can reveal the root causes of patterns and behaviors linked to trauma, release stored tension from the body, and provide new perspectives on past events. Many people experience profound emotional releases during ceremonies, allowing them to let go of what they’ve been carrying. The insights gained often continue to unfold long after the ceremony ends.

People come to heal from a wide range of traumatic experiences. Common examples include childhood trauma and neglect, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, toxic or abusive relationships, the death of loved ones, PTSD from various sources, domestic violence, living in war-torn countries, and complex trauma from multiple experiences over time. Some people arrive with clearly identified trauma, while others discover during their journey that unprocessed experiences have been affecting them in ways they didn’t realize.

Trauma healing is a deeply personal process, and the number of ceremonies varies for each individual. Some people experience significant breakthroughs in a single ceremony, while others benefit from multiple sessions over time. Generally, we recommend starting with 2-4 ceremonies in one retreat to allow for deeper processing and integration. Many people return for additional retreats as they continue their healing journey. The medicine works in layers—each ceremony can reveal and heal different aspects of your trauma. Your facilitators can help guide you based on your specific needs and what emerges during your experience.

Ayahuasca and traditional therapy work in complementary but distinct ways. Traditional therapy provides cognitive understanding, develops coping strategies, and offers consistent support over time through regular sessions. Ayahuasca accesses trauma stored in the body and subconscious that talk therapy may not reach, provides direct experiential healing rather than just intellectual understanding, can process years of pain in a single profound experience, and works on energetic and spiritual levels beyond the cognitive mind. Many people find the greatest success by combining both approaches—using Ayahuasca for deep experiential healing while working with a therapist for ongoing integration and support. The two modalities together create a more complete healing journey than either one alone.
