Ayahuasca healing: healing vs. improvement

You are probably a person who works a lot on himself / herself. You want to create a great life for yourself and you understand that you have to level up in order to create that. And honestly I am in the same boat as you. Ive been into personal development since my early 20s. Tthe personal development was mostly focused on business skills, productivity, sales, marketing, scaling all that kind of stuff. Also of course around the topic of self-confidence. Key takeaways: Many times we are focusing on improving our lives and overlook the importance of healing the pieces which are broken and hold us down. Acknowledging the event that we have not processed and are affecting our day-to – day life. Ayahuasca can help you become aware that you need healing in areas that you did not even know you needed and deliver these emotional shifts Table of Contents First Personal healing experience with Ayahuasca: When i then drank Ayahuasca 2,5 years ago a lot of things started to shift in me. But basically my first ceremony I had love flowing through my whole body and it was a transcendental experience and it helped me heal on a very deep level. And since then I have started to learn more the difference of the two, improvement and healing. The path of self-improvement: So lets say you have experienced a strong emotional impact which is still affecting you today. It can be a failure in business, betrayal of friend or family, a heartbreak whatever it is for you. And you decide. Hey, I never want to feel like this again. I feel helpless, overwhelmed, all of this. So the solution is to level up. Because a better version of myself it wouldnt happen again. So you start to build a successful business You get in the gym and get in great shape. You are starting to date attractive people You basically improve your life. And congratulations! You did amazing, you can be proud of yourself. And those are great pillars. But they are not the foundation… Because deep down you are still not ready to open your heart. To really trust somebody. Because you associate that from being disappointed, from being hurt. And in a way all of this success that you are creating for yourself is also running away from the pain. You notice that your life around you is improving. But your level of happiness really isn’t. But why is that. The path of Ayahuasca healing: Because you haven’t healed. You haven’t processed the negative impact. You tried to mask it with success. So don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with success, it is great and I congratulate you for putting in the work in that area. But it is not the only area. You also need to start healing from the pain that you suffered. And it will leave a scar, and it is okay. But you definitely want to get to a point where you don’t bring your past pain into the present situation. That you are afraid to be yourself, because you where bullied as a kid That you cannot trust your current partner because of what your ex did That you cannot build meaningful friendships because your old friend betrayed you That you are afraid to start a new business, because of what happened to the old one That you cannot hug your mother, father, sibling whoever in your family because of what happened in the past. Because that is going to weigh you down. And no amount of success can mask that. How do you heal the wounds of the past So then the question is, how do I heal, and this is a topic in and of itself, probably more like a 3 hour conversation. So I will write a lot of blog posts about this. But healing is not about becoming the best version of yourself but accepting the worst aspects of yourself. Its about feeling all the emotions that you have been running away from. Facing those aspects of yourself.. Its about compassion and forgiveness. Making peace with the past. And if you can do that, you will start to heal. This is not something that you do with your head. Oh ok, I have to forgive that person. I have to accept that I failed in that business, ok check. No you actually really have to feel it in your heart. Have acceptance come in for the negative things that happened in your life and eventually there will even be gratitude. And I know this probably sounds like it is very far away for you at this moment. It is ok. But I hope you start to understand the difference between improvement and healing and that you start doing the work in this area as well. You can do this with a therapist, with a coach, with plant medicines like Ayahuasca. Many people struggle with mental health issues. You can read more about how Ayahuasca can help with mental health in a blog article that explores this topic. You might experience sleepless nights and are asking yourself: Can Ayahuasca help with insomnia. We dedicate a Blog specifically for this topic. How Healing Works Through Ayahuasca: The mysterious and profound experience of Ayahuasca has been considered a catalyst for healing across different cultures and spiritual traditions. Referred to as the ‘master healer’, Ayahuasca has an uncanny way of addressing the deepest and most needed areas of our personal journey. We might step into the Ayahuasca experience with an idea of what we need to heal, but often Ayahuasca gently (or sometimes not-so-gently) points us towards those neglected corners of our inner world, those places where we’ve been avoiding but are most in need of our attention. The common saying applies: “Ayahuasca doesn’t give you what you want, Ayahuasca gives you what you need…” Ayahuasca healing is not strictly linear or logical. It often moves beyond the confines of our
Ayahuasca effects long term: 10 ways people transform after drinking Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is a powerful tool for transformation. There are more immediate effects like becoming aware of your habits, distinguishing if they serve you or not. Having important conversations with people, being more sensitive to the things around you. But what really matters and what people are looking for, what are the long term effects, how will my life look like 6 months or a year after my Ayahuasca Retreat. What really changes? Quick overview Ayahuasca effects long term: Connecting with your intuition Letting go of the inner critic Living a more authentic life Healing relationship with family prioritizing the value of relationships / friendships Connecting with your body intelligence Wanting to give back (re-) discovering your latent talents Connect with your purpose Increase in empathy Disclaimer: This is based on personal experience and guiding 1000+ people on their journey with Ayahuasca. However, just because others are having certain changes, does not mean that you will experience the same. Also, some of these changes will come to you more naturally than others. For some you will have to put a lot of conscious effort in. You will need to fail, feel the pain and start changing your ways because deep down, you know that certain patterns keep you in suffering. And there will be other changes that will come to your more naturally. Connecting with your intuition Perhaps one of the most profound long-term effects of Ayahuasca is the deep, intimate connection it can foster with your intuition. This sense, often buried under the noise of modern life, begins to resurface. You may start to notice an intuitive pull towards certain people, experiences, and places, while being repelled by others. This isn’t just an arbitrary preference; it’s your inner compass starting to guide you. Before your encounter with Ayahuasca, ‘listening to your heart‘ may have been just an idiom, an abstract concept you nodded to but never fully grasped. It was definitely like that for me. Post Ayahuasca, this phrase takes on a much deeper, tangible meaning. You start to understand and feel what it means to be in tune with your heart’s subtle yet profound wisdom. With time, you begin to discern what feels right, aligned, and genuine versus what feels forced or inauthentic. It’s a kind of resonance you start to feel in your being, a vibration that tells you when you’re in sync with your true self, and when you’re straying off the path. Ayahuasca teaches that the intelligence of the mind, while potent, isn’t the highest form of intelligence. Yes, the mind is a powerful tool, but it’s not the only one in our arsenal. Our intuition, our emotions, our physical sensations — these are all channels of wisdom, too. Certain challenges are best tackled not by cerebral logic but by the raw, intuitive wisdom that resides in our other energy centers. Letting go of the inner critic For many of us, our harshest critic isn’t out in the world; it’s within us. We’re often more unkind to ourselves than we would ever dream of being to others. The chatter of self-doubt, self-blame, and self-criticism is a constant, nagging presence. Imagine if someone else spoke to you the way you speak to yourself — you’d probably walk away. But with Ayahuasca, a profound shift happens. As the purging process moves stagnant energies and suppressed emotions, you also start releasing this critical energy. The volume of intrusive thoughts starts to lessen. The inner critic that was once shouting begins to quieten. It’s not an overnight process, but gradually, you notice that you’re more patient, forgiving, and accepting towards yourself. And, in time, you start becoming your own best friend. This can be one of the Ayahuasca effects long term. You begin to nurture a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself, one where you offer the same support, patience, and encouragement you would offer a dear friend. Must read blog: Ayahuasca Integration – How to maintain the magic after Ayahuasca Living a more authentic life In the depths of an Ayahuasca journey, a question often emerges, ringing clear and true: “What do I really want in my life?” Not the wants implanted by societal expectations, parental aspirations, or peer pressures. Not the wants that look good on paper, or impress the neighbors, or boost the resume. But the wants that originate from the deepest, most authentic part of you. This doesn’t necessarily mean a radical life overhaul or a drastic career change (although for some, it might). It might mean finally booking that vacation you’ve always dreamed of but never taken, to a place that calls to you on a soul level. It might mean making a major life decision you’ve been postponing. Perhaps it’s committing to a relationship, or leaving one. Maybe it’s moving to a new city, or finally pursuing a long-held dream. Essentially, it’s about answering a deeper “calling.” A calling that comes from within, that resonates with who you truly are. Living an authentic life means heeding this call, no matter where it leads you. Because ultimately, authenticity isn’t about doing what’s expected of you; it’s about doing what feels true to you. Healing Relationships with Family The relationships we have with our family significantly shape us, often in ways we don’t fully comprehend. The bonds we share with our parents, the generational traumas we unknowingly carry – these elements shape our emotional blueprint. Initiating conversations about family history and patterns can lead to profound healing. It might be you who initiates this healing, or it might come from someone else in your family. Regardless of the source, this process often leads to an improved understanding and deeper connection within the family. Observations show that these family dynamics can shift significantly following an Ayahuasca journey. You might not immediately understand the reason behind these changes, but remember, not everything needs an explanation. Allow things to unfold naturally. Transformation doesn’t always occur in a linear or predictable fashion. Healing relationships, like any form of healing,

So you went to an Ayahuasca retreat yourself to experience the magic of Ayahuasca. However, after the retreat, you feel worse than before. You feel agitated, sad, and frustrated, and you even see signs that you are about to fall into depression. This blog post is here to help you if you experience these strong emotional shifts after Ayahuasca, which were not what you were looking for in the first place. Key takeaways: The suppressed problems in your life can become apparent after you drink Ayahuasca which can create challenges in your life. Differentiate if you are going through a sad / intense phase or you are in a chronically depressed state. Maintain a level of optimism that you are not alone on this journey. That it is good that these uncomfortable truths come up so you can start addressing them now instead of losing another 5 years of passivity. Take one step at a time, do things which are good for you, possibly consider an additional Ayahuasca Retreat or working with a therapist / Integration Coach. Table of Contents Depression after Ayahuasca – becoming aware of the suppressed problems of your life Maybe you used to cruise through life, living one day after the other. Without major problems or major success. A normal life. And after you drank Ayahuasca, you start to see all the things which are wrong in your life. And you start to feel a level of depression after Ayahuasca. It’s like Ayahuasca gives you a VIP pass to the movie of your life, but now it’s playing in super high definition, showing details you’ve never noticed before. You’re in the director’s chair, observing the recurring themes and patterns in your life. Love and Heartbreak Take your romantic relationships, for example. After drinking Ayahuasca, it’s like you suddenly have this uncanny ability to see patterns you were oblivious to before. You know, like those ‘why am I always falling for the same kind of person’ moments? Or the gut-punching realization that maybe, just maybe, you’ve been the villain in some of your love stories. Your relationship with work And let’s not forget about work and career choices. Ayahuasca might lead you to ponder, ‘Am I really passionate about what I do, or am I just chasing that paycheck? Am I in the profession that I am in to make my parents proud or did I actually chose it for myself? It’s like suddenly having clarity about your professional trajectory, realizing how much it’s tangled up with your self-worth, ambitions, or maybe even fears. Your friendships Then, there are your buddies, your squad. It’s weird how Ayahuasca can make you question these bonds. Are these friendships real and nurturing, or just convenient alliances? Do your friends reflect who you truly are, or who you pretend to be? Your Social Patterns And oh boy, the way you interact with others, that’s a whole new Pandora’s box. You might start to see that the social dance you do, whether it’s being the life of the party or the wallflower, is often just a reaction to past traumas or insecurities. Scary, right? That a lot of your patterns are actually trauma responses, isolating yourself so you won’t be rejected or getting hurt. Maybe you are always socializing because you cannot be with yourself. That you use other people to your own self-benefit or that other people use you. This can have a serious impact on your mental health. Must read blog: Ayahuasca Integration – How to maintain the magic of Ayahuasca You awaken to the hard truth to the way you have been living your life With all these patterns exposed – post Ayahuasca depression might start to kick in and you start questioning the life you’ve been leading. It can be a bit unsettling, like you’ve been living a lie or like you’ve wasted a lot of precious time. It can feel like a spiritual hangover, making you wonder if that Ayahuasca trip was worth it after all. Remember, Ayahuasca is like a magnifying glass to your soul, so it’s bound to reveal some uncomfortable truths. But hey, acknowledging them is the first step to transforming them, right? So, brace yourself and embrace the journey. It might be bumpy, but it’s your ride to a more authentic life. Wrestling with Your Inner Demons: Sadness vs. Depression Before we venture further, let’s clear up one crucial thing—feeling sad, being alone, or feeling isolated isn’t the same as being depressed or having a major depressive disorder. It’s like comparing an afternoon rainfall to a full-blown thunderstorm. Now, I’m not minimizing these emotions—they’re pretty heavy, trust me, I know. But it’s essential to understand that they don’t always mean you’re in the grip of depression after Ayahuasca. You see, when you take Ayahuasca, it’s like you’ve just uncorked a fizzing bottle of your subconscious. It’s like disturbing a stagnant pond—there’s a lot of old, murky water (or emotions, in this case) that has been sitting unnoticed, and now it’s all stirred up. And you’re seeing it, smelling it, even tasting it. Gross, right? But that’s part of the process and can be one of the effects of Ayahuasca. When you’re feeling all these intense emotions, it might be tempting to reach for your usual coping mechanisms—maybe it’s a tub of ice cream, a Netflix binge, or even burying yourself in work. But what if you just sat with the feeling instead? Let it wash over you like a wave. It might be uncomfortable, even painful, but remember, this feeling is part of the healing process. It’s your body’s way of flushing out the emotional toxins. However, if what you’re feeling
Nightmares After Ayahuasca: When your subconscious still tries to communicate with you

It’s been a few days since you had your Ayahuasca Ceremony, and physically it has left your system, it’s spirit is still strong withing you. This manifest in a heightened sensitivity but is even more intense in your dream, or nightmares… Yes, nightmares. Unsettling, vivid, and at times frightening, these nightly intrusions can catch you off guard. One moment you’re peacefully asleep, the next you’re caught up in a storm of surreal images and sensations that can leave you breathless, sweaty, and anxious. Nightmares, though frightening, can happen after an Ayahuasca journey and is nothing to be concerned about. On the contrary they can offer significant insights if you are ready to understand the messages behind them. Key takeaways: It is normal that you are experiencing vivid dreams / nightmares after a ceremony. The Ayahuasca is still working in you and things are moving in your subconscious. Within a week (usually 2 – 5 days) the intense dreams will stop. If the nightmares persist consider doing a flower bath with bitter plants (for example tobacco, ruda, pino, eucalipto, artemisa, salvia) to energetically close the lops of the ceremony. Table of Contents Still Part of the Ceremony For many Ayahuasca participants, the dreams following a ceremony can feel as though the journey is still unfolding, like the echo of a song that lingers in the air long after the final notes have been struck. This can be both a disconcerting and enlightening experience. Ayahuasca, often referred to as the vine of the soul or the teacher plant, continues to guide you through the labyrinth of your subconscious, revealing hidden truths, unresolved issues, and forgotten memories. Just know that this is normal, and some parts of your subconscious still want to develop and show you things. Many times it is also a message that we have not yet internalized. Nightmares after Ayahuasca: Deciphering the Dream Messages The dream world is a place of symbols and metaphors. Each nightmare after Ayahuasca could be an attempt by your subconscious to communicate important messages to your conscious mind. Think of them as encoded signals sent by your inner self to help you navigate your healing process. For instance, a common theme could be confronting your fears or insecurities, often symbolized by sinister figures or threatening situations. This is your subconscious bringing to the surface what you might have been ignoring or suppressing. In the gentle yet firm hands of Ayahuasca, these dreams become a tool for self-discovery and healing. Sleepless Nights and Dread of Dreams Sometimes, the nightmares after Ayahuasca can be so intense that they instill a fear of sleep. You might find yourself caught in a cycle of anxiety, sleep deprivation, and more anxiety. It’s important to remember that this is a natural reaction. After all, Ayahuasca pushes us out of our comfort zones, coaxing us to confront our fears and wounds. Don’t shy away from these dreams. Instead, see them as opportunities to confront your shadow side. Journaling your dreams can be a helpful practice. It allows you to understand the underlying themes, symbols, and messages in your nightmares. You’re not alone in this journey; reach out to the facilitators of your ceremony or supportive communities to share your experiences. The Energetic Closure of the Ceremony If your nightmares after Ayahuasca persist, it could be a sign that the shaman didn’t close the ceremony properly at the energetic level. Ayahuasca rituals involve energetic interactions, and a well-conducted ceremony requires proper opening and closure to ensure participants’ safety and well-being. How to close energetic loops of an Ayahuasca ceremony. There are multiple things that you can do to do a cleansing on yourself after an Ayahuasca ceremony. One of them is taking a bath with bitter plants (for example, tobacco, ruda, pino, eucalipto, artemisa, salvia), a traditional method of purifying and resetting one’s energetic field. The bitterness of the plants absorbs and removes any lingering negative energy. Smoking tobacco is another practice that could help. In many indigenous cultures, tobacco is considered a powerful cleanser and protector. It’s used to ward off negative energies and create a safe space for spiritual work. When you light the tobacco, make sure you understand that you are intending to connect with the spirit of tobacco. A spirit of the light and the sun. Do not have the cigar pointing towards the earth, but at least horizontally or upwards (to the sky). Share your intention with the cigar when lighting it, welcome the spirit of tobacco into your life, and stay focused on your intention while smoking the cigar. Also, when you use tobacco to clean, it is important that you spit the saliva out. If you know an experienced Ayahuasca facilitator or shaman in your area, it is also good to reach out to him and ask him for a cleaning ritual as well. Sometimes we get asked to come to somebody after they went to an Ayahuasca ceremony (not with us) to help them close the energetic loops. The Healing Power of Companionship As you navigate through this post-Ayahuasca phase, don’t hesitate to lean on your friends or loved ones. Consider staying over at a friend’s place or inviting them to spend some time with you. This can not only bring comfort but also give you a safe space to share your experiences and thoughts. Nightmares can feel less daunting when shared with someone who listens and understands. Moreover, having a companion nearby can offer a reassuring sense of safety and grounding, especially when the dream world seems overwhelming. Ayahuasca and relationships: The impact of Ayahuasca on romantic relationships

Ayahuasca can bring us profound insights about our lives, shift things emotionally within us, and be the catalyst for change and growth in our lives. It can also affect an integral aspect of your life, your romantic relationship, or even lead to a breakup. At first, this sounds very scary and not something we would want under any circumstances. It is also not something that is bound to happen, and another possibility is a deepened romantic relationship after your Ayahuasca retreat. In this blog post, I want to share how an Ayahuasca Retreat might influence your romantic relationship, the shifts that can happen, how to deepen your relationship and when it is best to actually end it… Key takeaways: Ayahuasca can strongly impact a relationship because it can profoundly impact you. Big questions are, how authentic are you (and were you in the past) in your relationship, and is the “new you” compatible with the version of your partner. Open and honest communication is the best way to grow together. Or grow apart if the relationship is not serving any more. You cannot force your partner on their healing journey or to join an Ayahuasca retreat. Table of Contents Should you do Ayahuasca with your partner? There is no clear yes-or-no answer if you should drink Ayahuasca with your partner or not. It depends, like many things in life. However, if you do drink together, it is important that each one of you understands that you are here for your own personal journey. And so is your partner. I recommend couples sit apart from each other in an Ayahuasca ceremony for multiple reasons. Let’s say one of them is going through a difficult time. Many times, the partner will try to be there for the person and give them a hug. But in most cases, the person does not need a hug but actually needs to sit with what came up for them in their journey. An interaction from the outside can be an interruption and can get the person out of their process. So it is important that you respect each other’s space in the ceremony when you do decide to drink together. When you go to an Ayahuasca retreat together, many patterns can come up that you can dive deeper into. It can be codependency, jealousy, being avoidant, or many different aspects. And it is good that those things start to come up, and you can communicate and resolve what you need to resolve. Whether you should be drinking Ayahuasca with your partner depends on many other things as well. Maybe you are working on something apart from the relationship, and it is good that you have the space to explore those aspects for yourself. Or you would actually want to know that your partner is there by your side and that you can talk and bounce ideas of each other the next day. Again, it all depends on your relationship, how much stability you have, what you want to explore, etc. It can be a magnificent journey drinking Ayahuasca together with your partner, and it can bring you closer together because you will experience each other in a very raw and vulnerable form. Without all the masks, you can communicate about exactly what is important to each of you (after the ceremony). How authentic do you show up in your relationship? Self-discovery through Ayahuasca is like opening up a hidden room within your heart that you’ve kept under lock and key. As you swing open the doors, you’re suddenly faced with a myriad of emotions and behaviors that influence your relationships. Hidden beneath layers of daily routine and unspoken habits, this new awareness starts to create ripples in your understanding of your own authenticity. You start asking yourself, “Am I really voicing my true needs? Am I genuinely expressing what I like and dislike?” And here’s the kicker: You might realize you’ve been performing a role all along, just trying to meet your partner’s expectations. That’s a heavy realization, right? You’ve been dancing to a tune that’s not yours. But here’s the good news: Ayahuasca hands you a new melody, encouraging you to listen to your own heart. It’s like you’ve been wearing a mask in your relationship, and now it’s time to start peeling off the layers. With each layer you remove, you’re getting closer to your genuine self. You begin to appreciate the power of real, unfiltered emotions, the strength of vulnerability, and the liberation of being true to yourself. Your journey with this plant medicine is your ticket to authenticity in your relationship. It’s about shedding the mask and embracing the joy of being true to who you are with your partner. It’s about being you, completely and unapologetically. Must read Blog: Ayahuasca Integration – how to maintain the magic of Ayahuasca Does your partner want to grow in the same way you do? Imagine your relationship as a two-person race where you and your partner are bound together. You’ve both got to move in sync, right? It’s the only way to make progress and reach the finish line. Here’s the big question: Is your partner ready to strap on their boots and join you on this trek? Remember, just like in the race, you two are a team in life. This teamwork isn’t about always doing the same things or having the same experiences. No, it’s about understanding and supporting each other, about aligning your growth paths. After gaining more clarity and becoming conscious through Ayahuasca, it’s like flipping the switch on a spotlight that’s shining on the way you both grow and evolve in your relationship. Maybe there are things you’ve never talked about before. Maybe there are fears, hopes, or dreams that have stayed in the shadows. But now these topics are front and center. It’s like a catalyst, sparking deep and meaningful conversations you may have sidestepped in the past. But here’s the key: these talks

However, consider if it is more about the company, your attitude towards work, your coworkers etc. that contribute to the resentment that you feel towards your work. Many times it is our attitude towards work, then the work itself. By rediscovering the why behind your work, the value you provide to the people around you, why you started with this field to begin with can reconnect you to your profession. Table of Contents Digging Deeper Into The Why Behind Your Career Path Do you remember the moment when you decided on your career path? Was it a single, defining point in time, or a gradual transition guided by a series of events? For many of us, our career choices are a blend of conscious decisions and subconscious influences, like pieces in an puzzle, fitting together to construct the story of our lives. The reasons behind our career paths often reside on a spectrum, which ranges from deeply personal motivations to external persuasions that subtly nudge us down certain lanes. Perhaps you chose your path for the allure of wealth. In a world that equates success with financial prosperity, this is a common rationale. The thought of a well-filled bank account, the freedom it promises, and the respect it garners are indeed attractive propositions. Maybe you chose your profession not for the money itself but for the stability and security it provides, as insurance against life’s unexpected challenges. For many, the pursuit of financial gain isn’t just about materialistic desires but a practical response to the demands of life. Alternatively, your chosen path might be fueled by a quest for validation. For some, their careers serve as a yardstick for their self-worth, a badge of honor that validates their competence, intelligence, and diligence. In a society that measures success through professional achievement, it’s easy to equate our job titles with our identities. We work tirelessly to prove ourselves and meet the high expectations set by society, and in the process, our professions become an integral part of our identity. Or maybe your career choice was influenced by your family—an homage to tradition or an effort to fulfill the expectations of your loved ones. You might be walking the path laid down by your parents, consciously or unconsciously emulating their footsteps, driven by a deep-rooted desire to make them proud. This could be a path that was chosen out of respect and love for them, or it might be a result of societal or familial pressure. Certainly, apart from external influences and pressures, it’s vital not to overlook the power of internal reasoning in shaping our career paths. The voice within us, our intuition, often guides us to avenues that truly resonate with our core values and interests. This inner voice may lead us to a path less travelled, a niche where we can exploit our unique strengths and talents. Have you ever had moments when something just felt ‘right’? When a decision didn’t need extensive rationalization because it ignited a spark inside you? That’s your intuition speaking. It’s about feeling a magnetic pull towards a career that not only caters to your talents and strengths but also piques your curiosity and fuels your passion. This intuitive approach to career choice often cultivates a deep sense of fulfillment because it’s born from an inner alignment. It enables you to bring your entire self—your skills, passion, and unique perspective—to your work. It’s about living in tune with your authentic self and investing your energy in something that truly matters to you. When your career stems from this profound place, work doesn’t feel like a chore but an exciting journey of self-expression and self-realization. Perhaps you’ll discover that this is an integral part that has been missing in your career choice. And most likely, you have overlooked this aspect of your career choice… Must read Blog: Ayahuasca Integration – how to maintain the magic of Ayahuasca Your Relationship with Work Work is a huge part of our lives, the expression of our abilities, and often the vessel of our dreams. Ayahuasca vomit explained: Why you vomit on Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is one of the most powerful plant medicines in the world. It’s origin is from the Amazon, and one thing comes to mind when hearing about Ayahuasca… Vomiting. Something most people absolutely hate, so why would I drink something where I know I will end up vomiting… But the vomiting is more than just a physical side effect of Ayahuasca. It is actually a deep level of purging, letting go of unwanted energy, healing, and much more. In this blog, we will dive deeper into the topic and also discuss how to prepare yourself best for the unpleasant experience of vomiting. Key takeaways: Purging, through vomiting or diarrhea is a normal physical side effect of Ayahuasca. During the vomiting the participant is also going through an energetic and spiritual cleaning, letting go of things that no longer serve them and keeping them down. Table of Contents https://youtu.be/vNPdiAoRA74?si=ej5tL4j5M3WEiTSx One of the first questions people ask is: Do you always have to vomit? In most cases, you will vomit, but not always. Ayahuasca is a purging medicine, and the normal reaction is either vomiting or diarrhea. However, in very few cases, people do not experience vomiting or diarrhea. What is purging on Ayahuasca, known as “la purga” Purging on Ayahuasca signifies that you are physically and energetically cleansing. Purging from repressed emotions, psychological burdens, and things that weigh you down In a way, it represents spiritual detoxification and letting go of energies that hold you back from your true potential. Ayahuasca Experience: “Vomiting Was the Favorite Part of My Ceremony” One of the participants in an Ayahuasca ceremony shared the day after the ceremony that the vomiting was actually her favorite part of the ceremony. Initially, she was apprehensive about this, and just felt like alright, this is something I have to deal with when I want to have the experience. So she embraced the process. In her experience, the vomitting was a very liberating part of the ceremony. We all carry so much weight and unresolved things with us, it is great to be able to let go if. And she felt that powerful release through the vomiting in her ceremony. So of course it is not something pleasant or something that we look forward to, but this experience might help you to reframe your position towards vomiting when drinking Ayahuasca. Also, as crazy as it sounds, there are also some tips to follow around vomiting in your Ayahuasca ceremony. Tips for Vomiting in Your Ayahuasca Ceremony Here are some tips and insights that might shed light on this unique experience. Try not to vomit in the first 30 minutes – rinse your mouth After drinking Ayahuasca, it is important to resist the urge to vomit in the first 30 minutes. This period is critical for the Ayahuasca to permeate your system, to allow its healing properties to absorb into your body and start working their magic. If you purge too quickly, you might not feel the full effect of the medicine, which could be a setback in your journey. Post-drinking, rinsing your mouth with water can help eliminate the residual taste, making the urge to vomit less potent. If you’re unsure about when 30 minutes have passed, generally, resisting the first and second wave of the urge should suffice. Sit down and breathe But what if the urge is overwhelming? Well, remember this second piece of advice: Sit down and breathe slowly. The calming effect of deep, mindful breathing can help soothe the turbulence within, keeping the Ayahuasca safely in your system for longer. It’s about calming your body and spirit, reminding yourself of the purpose of your journey, and preparing for the transformative experience that lies ahead. Ask the Ayahuasca to stay in Sometimes, there can be an internal conflict during this process. We all have parts of ourselves resistant to change, aspects that fear the challenges Ayahuasca might bring, and that part might try to expel the brew quickly. It’s essential to acknowledge this resistance, but also to encourage the transformative aspects of your being to persevere. In an unusual but effective practice, try asking the Ayahuasca to stay in, to remain within you as you traverse this journey. You’re drinking something that, despite the initial discomfort, holds the potential for immense personal growth. Ayahuasca vomit: Open your mouth while vomiting And finally, when the moment of purging does come—and for many, it will—remember to open your mouth. This might seem like an odd tip, but it’s practical. If your mouth is open as wide as possible, it ensures a smooth passage for the release of unwanted energies, making the process less uncomfortable by avoiding the sensation of vomit through your nose. Standing up while when you throw up on Ayahuasca A piece of advice from the indigenous elders is to stand up while the Ayahuasca vomit. This might sound counterintuitive, particularly when your body is wrapped in waves of nausea and potential dizziness. Standing up, however, can aid in the more natural expulsion of energies, allowing for a more profound purge. It’s a matter of embodying your strength and engaging your willpower to also follow the traditions and the wisdom of the elders. However, understand that this doesn’t necessarily apply to first timers. If you can’t stand up, don’t worry. Sitting down while purging is not a failure—it’s a matter of listening to your body and respecting its limits. The purging process is about emotional and spiritual liberation. No need to feel ashamed of vomiting One critical aspect to remember during an Ayahuasca ceremony is that there’s no room for shame in your journey. The act of vomiting, despite its appearance, is a pivotal part of the process. It’s an expression of your commitment to the process and to let go of the energies that no longer serve you. Every participant, from the most seasoned veteran to the first-timer, goes through the same stages. Remember, you’re in a shared space of healing and transformation,
Ayahuasca Intention: How to find your heart-centered intention for your profound Ayahuasca ceremony

The Importance of Ayahuasca Intention Before drinking Ayahuasca, it’s important to think about why you want to drink Ayahuasca. Having a clear intention can help you stay focused and centered during the journey, especially in case it gets difficult. Take some time to reflect on your goals and wishes of your soul, so you have a guiding force to rely on when working with Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca intention setting is when you decide what you want to achieve during a ceremony. This helps you to receive healing on a specific (or broad) topic and can involve things like gaining clarity on a problem, connecting with a higher power, forgiving somebody or growing personally. By setting clear intentions, you can guide your experience and give it purpose. But why are intentions so important? Well, without clear intentions, your experience with the medication may lack direction or meaning. On the other hand, when you set specific intentions, you give yourself something to focus on during the ceremony. This can help you stay grounded and present even when things get tough. I always remember the word Taita Miguel shared: “The clearer your intention, the clearer the messages in your Ayahuasca ceremony” – Taita Miguel So let’s answer the question on how to set a powerful intention for your ceremony Key takeaways: Ayahuasca is a powerful medicine that can have a profound impact on your life. It is not something you do for recreative purposes. Therefore, it is important that there is a deeper reason why you drink Ayahuasca, your intention. You can have a specific intention for Ayahuasca when there is an area of life where you want to focus on, or that is in disharmony. When there are multiple things in your life that require your attention it is good to go with an open intention like “healing” or “growth”. An intention is different to an expectation. You set your intention in what you want to dive deeper but you are open for the Ayahuasca to take you in different directions. Maybe your intention will develop differently than anticipated and be open to that. Do not restrict the experience. Table of Contents Setting Ayahuasca Intention: Examples and Tips Questions to find your Ayahuasca Intention To discover your intention for an ayahuasca ceremony, there are several questions you can ask yourself: What is the wish of your soul? What do you want to let go of? What unresolved issue are you carrying with you? What keeps you up at night? Who/what is triggering you? What area of your life do you want to tidy up? With whom or what do you want to make peace? What do you feel like you need? What would you tell your 8-year-old self? What do you wish for yourself in 5/10 years? What feelings/situations are you running away from? As what kind of person do I want to show up as in my work/friendships/romantic relationships? And what’s holding me back? Asking these questions before an Ayahuasca retreat can help uncover areas of your life that need attention. It can also help you gain clarity on what you want to achieve in your life. If you prefer to watch a video on this topic you are more than welcome to: Additional questions to ask yourself for setting your intention for your Ayahuasca ceremony Reflect on your current state: Take some time to sit quietly and reflect on what’s going on in your life right now. What challenges are you facing? What emotions are present? What areas of your life do you want to improve by taking steps towards change? How does your environment affect your beliefs? Identify your goals: Based on your beliefs and reflection, identify specific goal(s) that you want to work on during the ceremony. Consider how these goals can contribute to positive change in yourself and your environment, taking into account your personal values and priorities. Write down your intentions: Once you have identified your beliefs and goals, write them down in a clear and concise statement using positive language. For example: “I intend to release my limiting beliefs about abundance,” “I intend to connect with my inner child and transform my negative self-talk beliefs,” “I intend to heal my relationship with my mother by releasing old beliefs that no longer serve me.” Repeat your intentions and beliefs: Before drinking ayahuasca, take some time to repeat your intentions and beliefs silently. Visualize yourself achieving them and feel the emotions associated with their fulfillment. Is Your Intention Coming from the Heart? One of the most important questions to ask yourself when setting an intention for an ayahuasca ceremony is whether it’s coming from the heart. Your intention should be something that resonates with you on a deep level and feels authentic. If your intention is head-centered, it may not be as effective. Take some time to reflect on your intention and make sure it’s aligned with your true self. Examples for an intention for your Ayahuasca ceremony: Feeling love Feeling worthy Becoming more compassionate healing the relationship with somebody Forgiving somebody (or oneself) processing a strong emotional event in our life Leave behind mental health struggles break through an internal barrier Seeing one’s blind spots become more courageous / overcome fear Understanding oneself better Gaining clarity Connecting with one’s intuition Personal growth And many more Hearing the “Call of Ayahuasca” There’s a certain inexplicable whisper that resonates within your soul, often referred to as the ‘call’ for Ayahuasca. It’s difficult to articulate. This call doesn’t stem from logic or reason; it feels more like an innate yearning, an intangible thread pulling you towards a journey of profound self-discovery. It could be a wish for healing, or something that keeps pointing you towards Ayahuasca and you cannot explain it. But something in you tells you there is something to take a deeper look at. It may seem daunting, maybe even irrational to some, but this spiritual call can be a potent compass guiding your way. This quiet but persistent whisper is your intuition, your

Psychedelic substances Mixing various psychoactive compounds can result in unpredictable reactions, potentially overwhelming the individual or even leading to dangerous physical and mental consequences. By refraining from the use of additional psychedelics, you can create a clean slate for the Ayahuasca experience, allowing the plant medicine to work its magic in the most optimal way. Consult with a doctor about your situation For any other medical concerns, it’s essential to consult with a knowledgeable healthcare professional before joining an Ayahuasca ceremony. Are you afraid to drink Ayahuasca? Confronting the fear of the unknown

Ayahuasca is one of the most powerful plant medicines in the world, and understandably, many people who consider trying it ask themselves, “Am I really ready for this?” or “I am afraid of this experience.” To answer this question, let’s take a closer look at Ayahuasca and the fears surrounding it. Key takeaways: Ayahuasca’s reputation of having to face your deepest fears, confront your darkest trauma etc. has people understandably afraid of Ayahuasca. However, the nature of Ayahuasca is a lot more loving that people give her credit for. In the end the healing always comes through the love, light, understanding, compassion, acceptance and forgiveness, which is also the path of Ayahuasca It takes a lot of courage to look within. Ask yourself honestly how long you hae been struggling with whatever you are facing at the moment, how well your methods of dealing with it have worked, how much longer you are willing to stay in that situation and if you are ready to change. Table of Contents The Personal Decision: Is Ayahuasca Right for You? It’s vital to recognize that Ayahuasca isn’t the right choice for everyone. While some individuals may be drawn to the plant medicine’s potential for healing and self-discovery, others might instinctively feel that it’s not suited for them. In the end, the decision to embark on an Ayahuasca journey is a deeply personal one, and each person must carefully weigh the pros and cons before making that choice. To be clear, the intention here is not to persuade or dissuade anyone from trying Ayahuasca. For every reason not to drink the brew, there may be a compelling counter-argument as to why it might be beneficial. Ultimately, it’s up to each individual to determine whether this powerful experience aligns with their personal path and objectives. There are those who, upon hearing about Ayahuasca, quickly and decisively determine that it’s not for them. They may have no desire to engage in such an intense, introspective experience, and their decision is evident. It’s essential to respect these individuals’ choices and understand that plant medicine isn’t the only means of personal growth and healing. However, there are also those who find themselves on the fence, intrigued by the possibilities but apprehensive about the unknown. This group may be grappling with mixed emotions: part of them yearns to explore the healing potential of Ayahuasca, while another part fears the unknown, worrying about potential adverse reactions or discomfort. It’s for these individuals that a thoughtful consideration of the pros and cons becomes especially crucial. Ayahuasca’s Reputation generally scares people Ayahuasca has gained a reputation for making people face their deepest and darkest fears, confront their inner demons, and relive their most traumatic memories. Some stories even describe it as an intense journey to hell and back, with a myriad of terrifying experiences and visions. Of course, one would naturally be afraid of an experience like this. But we have to take into consideration that these stories are the ones that go viral on the internet, creating an overwhelming impression of the Ayahuasca experience as solely fear-inducing and nightmarish. However, it’s essential to recognize that the healing power of Ayahuasca comes from a diverse range of experiences, not just the dramatic and terrifying ones. In the end, healing always comes through love, light, understanding, compassion, and forgiveness. And this is also the way of Ayahuasca. Only these aspects of Ayahuasca do not garner as many views, but they are so much more common than the terrifying ones. In many cases, the healing we seek comes not from a swift kick in the back, forcing us to confront our fears, but from the gentle embrace of love and understanding that Ayahuasca can provide. This nurturing aspect of plant medicine is often overlooked, as sensationalized stories of fear and terror take center stage. It’s important to remember that watching these fear-based stories can impact our subconscious, potentially shaping our own Ayahuasca experiences and perpetuating a cycle of fear. Ayahuasca: The Master Plant’s Deep Intelligence and Guidance Ayahuasca, often referred to as the master plan, possesses deep intelligence that seems to understand us better than we understand ourselves. It provides us with what we need and can handle. Sometimes offering a harsh look in the mirror of our lives. Yet, this introspective journey is often precisely what we require for growth and healing. By trusting in Ayahuasca’s inherent wisdom, we can embark on a journey guided gently and effectively by the plant’s profound insight. The master plan’s ability to tailor the experience to our individual needs and readiness is nothing short of remarkable. For instance, a friend who has been working with Ayahuasca for about five years only began processing the memory of childhood sexual abuse in the fourth or fifth year of his journey. This crucial aspect of his healing didn’t surface earlier because he most likely wasn’t prepared to face it at that point in his journey. Similarly, if I had some of the intense / difficult ceremonies that I experienced later in my Ayahuasca journey in the very beginning, it would have possibly stopped my journey with Ayahuasca. As we progress in our personal journeys with Ayahuasca, the plant seems to know what we’re ready for. Ayahuasca’s deeper intelligence allows it to guide us through our healing process with a remarkable level of care and understanding. By trusting in this wisdom and setting intentions for a gentle experience, we often find that the plant medicine responds accordingly, providing us with the right balance of challenge and nurturing that we need for growth and transformation. In conclusion, embracing the deep intelligence of Ayahuasca as the master plan helps us navigate our journey with trust and confidence. By understanding that the plant knows what we need and can handle, we can open ourselves up to the powerful, transformative experiences that it has to offer. Also, it is important that you prepare for your Ayahuasca ceremony. I wrote a blog specifically
Ayahuasca mistake: 6 common errors to avoid after drinking Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is a powerful plant medicine that has been used for centuries to heal and bring profound insights to those who experience it. However, after an Ayahuasca ceremony, it’s crucial to avoid these six mistakes to ensure a smooth integration process and to avoid unnecessary conflicts or misunderstandings. Let’s dive in. Table of Contents Ayahuasca Mistake #1: Telling everybody about your Ayahuasca journey After an Ayahuasca experience, you might feel compelled to share your journey with everyone around you. While it’s natural to want to share a life-changing experience, it’s important to consider the potential consequences. People may not understand your experience, as they haven’t gone through it themselves. They might become skeptical or question your newfound changes. Some may think you’ve gone on a “drug trip” and dismiss your experience. Others might even feel envious of your journey. Sharing your experience can also put unnecessary pressure on you, as people might ask you about your progress in the future (about very personal things). It is a bit like talking about your goals; even talking about them exerts energy. Energy that you could be using to accomplish your goals. The same applies to Ayahuasca. Instead of telling people how much of an epiphany you had and how you now understand things, act like that, and the changes will happen. Then it is a better time to talk about Ayahuasca. Remember, indigenous cultures keep their Ayahuasca visions private, believing they are sacred secrets meant only for the individual. Consider unpacking your experience with others who have undergone a similar journey or are knowledgeable about Ayahuasca. This way, you can share your insights with those who will understand and support you. Personally, I did not tell my parents when I started drinking Ayahuasca because I thought they would most likely be worried about what I was getting into, thinking to themselves, What is going wrong in my life that I feel the need to drink Ayahuasca. After about 4 months after my first Ayahuasca retreat, my mom noticed that my eyes were a lot lighter and that my genuine smile was coming back. Then it is lot easier to share what is going on in your life, what you have done, and why certain things have changed. Remember, less is more! To learn more about the Ayahuasca integration process, check out this blog post: Ayahuasca Mistake #2: Being greedy and wanting more Ayahuasca It’s essential to find the right balance when it comes to using Ayahuasca for healing. While you might feel an intuitive calling to dive deeper into a particular topic, in this case, it is recommended to follow the calling of Ayahuasca. However, be cautious not to approach the medicine out of greed or curiosity. It’s important to remember that the goal of Ayahuasca is not to chase after visions, insights, or extraordinary experiences, but rather to facilitate deep healing and personal growth. Ayahuasca should be taken with respect and humility, as the plant has its own intelligence and will reveal what you need to see when you need to see it. Drinking too much Ayahuasca can lead to negative effects, like a sense of overwhelm or difficulties integrating the experience. The powerful nature of Ayahuasca makes it crucial to give yourself ample time to process and integrate each ceremony, ensuring that you are truly ready for the next step in your healing journey. It’s important to consult with experienced facilitators or shamans to determine the appropriate frequency and dosage for your unique situation. They can provide guidance on how many ceremonies you might need based on factors such as your intentions, personal history, and current state of mind. Additionally, it’s important to cultivate a healthy relationship with the medicine, recognizing that it’s not a magic pill or quick fix. True healing requires not only the insights gained during ceremonies but also the dedication and work put into integrating those lessons into your daily life. To avoid being greedy with Ayahuasca, consider focusing on cultivating self-awareness, setting clear intentions, and practicing patience throughout the healing process. This approach will allow you to honor the wisdom of the plant and create a more sustainable and fulfilling healing journey. Be careful not to become an Ayahuasca “disciple,” recommending it to everyone you meet. Ayahuasca is a deep and personal journey, and the individual must be ready for it. Encouraging someone to try it without proper consideration can lead to negative outcomes. There’s a natural tendency to want to share the transformative power of Ayahuasca with others, especially when you’ve witnessed remarkable personal growth and healing. However, it’s crucial to remember that what works for one person may not work for another. Each person’s path to healing is unique, and it’s essential to respect that and not be influenced solely by another’s recommendation or experience. Instead of “prescribing” Ayahuasca to everyone you meet, consider offering support and understanding, allowing them to discover their own path to healing. While it’s true that many people might not be prepared to go on such an intense journey, this doesn’t mean they are lesser beings. Every person has their own unique path, and comparing ourselves to others can be counterproductive. It’s easy to

How many Ayahuasca ceremonies do you need? What’s recommended? When is it too much?

In a recent YouTube video, I shared how I have been drinking Ayahuasca on a weekly basis for the last 1,5 years and how it has served me. I mentioned that everybody’s journey is different with this plant medicine so naturally, the question came up, how many times do I need to drink Ayahuasca to have a long-lasting effect and deep transformation. I initially thought Ayahuasca is something that you do once in your life, maybe once a year, and was surprised to find out that there are people drinking a lot more Ayahuasca. So what is the appropriate amount? In this blog post, we will dive deeper into this question. Key takeaways: How often you need to drink Ayahuasca depends on how deep your pain is and what your intention for Ayahuasca is. The majority of the people “need” between 3 – 15 ceremonies in an 18 – 24 month period to overcome the struggle that made them go on the path of Ayahuasca. Some need less, others start to see the benefits of Ayahuasca in their life and will start using it as a tool for growth or other challenges that come up in their life Table of Contents https://youtu.be/1CXoy4jf_tY?si=UTaFipt9cDWhkmxa What are you looking for in Ayahuasca determines how many Ayahuasca ceremonies are suitable for you? One of the first things you need to become clear on is what are you looking for in Ayahuasca. Are you looking to heal? How deep is the wound? Do you want to break through a limiting belief? How long have you been carrying this with you? Must read Blog: Ayahuasca Intention – Find your intention for this powerful medicine How deep is your pain? There are people who come to Ayahuasca with a history of drug abuse. Underlying the drug abuse is usually a deeper level of trauma they experienced earlier in life. People with this type of background generally need more Ayahuasca. There is the part of healing the body and the nervous system from all of the damage and imbalances. And then also the healing of the spirit and the soul. Healing is non-linear. Time does heal wounds, but also depends on how well you care for them in the time of healing. There are stages of anger, acceptance, forgiveness, and finally making peace with past events that are essential for healing the wounds of the past. And all of these things can happen in an Ayahuasca ceremony. But it is also important to act on it in real life. With who do you need to have a conversation with, maybe even writing a letter can help (you don’t even need to send it). Will you fall back into certain thought patterns after you emotionally healed them, just because that is the familiar? This is what you are used to. In this case, you are now “voluntarily” reexperiencing the pain and the suffering. Do you have sufficient power, drive, and maturity to withstand that? What is the typical amount of ceremonies a person needs: Again everybody’s situation is different and what their objection with Ayahuasca is. Generally speaking, the usual participant will partake in 3 – 15 ceremonies to shift to where they wanted to be. The timeframe for the ceremonies is usually a 1 – 3 year window. Maybe after that time, a new major topic might come to the person’s life’s where they feel the calling to connect with Ayahuasca again. They might start to see Ayahuasca or other plant medicine as something that starts to guide them in their life and it becomes one of the many tools they have at their disposal to connect with themselves and grow. Or they decide that they continue their life path without Ayahuasca. That they have found what they were looking for and do not feel the calling to return. Either way is great. We are not here trying to convert people to the path of the medicine and this is the only way for spiritual growth and healing. It doesn’t matter how many times you drank Ayahuasca, it is important that you always prepare. Find out more about it in this Blog. Do you want to dive deeper into Ayahuasca? We created Harmonica Ayahuasca Retreat exactly for this purpose. You do not need Ayahuasca! Also, I believe it is important to state, that you do not need Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is a tool, a very powerful one, but it is a tool. The medicine you are really looking for is yourself. And Ayahuasca can help you connect with yourself, but there are multiple ways to do that. I recommend that everybody find different tools for themselves that work for them. Meditation, Yoga, breath work, Reiki, building a community are many different examples that help us create a life full of connection. Connection with ourselves, which then leads to meaningful connections with others that help us feel safe. Having those different tools is incredible. Sometimes a “simple” breath work session or a conversation with my therapist have been the keys that I have been looking for that I did not encounter in my plant medicine ceremonies. So make sure you keep on expanding and applying your toolbox. Find out if Ayahuasca is right for you Will you be safe physically and emotionally? How will you be supported in the ceremony?
