Who comes to Ayahuasca Retreats? A Diverse Audience
There’s no single type of person who finds their way to this work with Ayahuasca — only those who are ready for it.
What type of person comes to drink Ayahuasca?
The honest answer is: all kinds. We’ve sat with executives who haven’t cried in a decade and people who feel like they’ve been crying their whole life. Veterans carrying things they can’t explain to anyone back home. Couples on the edge of something — not sure yet whether it’s a breakthrough or a goodbye. People in their twenties who sense there’s more to life, and people in their sixties who are finally ready to find out.
What they share isn’t a diagnosis or a background. It’s a feeling that the ordinary options — therapy, medication, willpower, time — haven’t been enough. And the courage to try something different.

- Women - A space built around emotional safety — where you can feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
- Spiritual seekers - For people who sense there's more — and are ready to find out what that actually means.
- Travellers - Are you travelling to find yourself? Maybe Ayahuasca is part of that journey…
Stories of people who have changed with retreats at Harmonica - 1001 Nights of Ayahuasca
Quitting Cigarettes
Exactly one year ago today, I had the opportunity to participate in a retreat with Oliver and his wonderful team – a journey that truly changed my life. From the very beginning, I felt safe and supported, which allowed me to fully engage in the process. The path was not always easy – many things had a lasting effect, and there were many confrontations with myself. But that is exactly what allowed me to heal and change so much. I managed to quit smoking completely (thank you for your words, Oliver...), I sleep better and I am proud of how far I have come since then. This retreat helped me to accept my life more, to find peace with my decisions and to become more free inside.
A big thank you also goes to Sergio, who guided us so powerfully through the ceremonies, and to Jenna, Caroline and Kevin, who made this retreat a safe and unforgettable experience with their warmth and presence. I can't wait to have this experience again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this safe space.
Letting Go
Attending the Harmonica retreat was one of the most profound and enlightening experiences of my life. While the work was undeniably intense and at times deeply confronting, it was exactly what my spirit needed. This was not a vacation—it was a sacred journey inward, one that asked me to face my fears, release old patterns, and truly surrender to the medicine. And in that surrender, something powerful shifted. I feel like I left a version of myself behind and returned more aligned with who I truly am 🌱.
One of the most beautiful takeaways was the bonds I formed with other participants. The shared vulnerability and intention of the group created a deep sense of connection that I will carry with me always. Lifelong connections were formed, and I felt truly seen in ways I never have before 💫.
This retreat taught me that healing is not always gentle, but it is always sacred. The path to reintegration begins the moment you surrender. For anyone considering this work, my advice is to come with an open heart, clear intentions, and a willingness to let go of everything you think you know. Trust the facilitators. Trust the medicine. Trust yourself. You will not leave the same person you arrived as 🕊️.
Thank you, Harmonica, for holding me through such a transformational chapter. I am forever grateful.
Wanted a Family
Not only has the medicine Ayahuasca helped me with a lot of my issues but also has shown me that we are all in this journey together.
With the things learnt in the retreat, we are confident enough to say that we will be able to help our little baby grow in the healthiest way possible. Thank you a lot for being that lovely persons you have been, we are still thinking a lot about you all🩵

One Circle, Many Paths - not specific group retreats
At Harmonica, we don’t run retreats exclusively for entrepreneurs, or only for veterans, or just for women. Every retreat brings together a genuinely diverse group of people — the high-achieving executive sits in the same circle as the young traveler, the single mother, the war survivor, the senior citizen finding their footing again. We’ve found that this diversity is part of the medicine itself. Something shifts when people who would never otherwise meet are facing the same darkness, the same vulnerability, the same hope. Nobody is above anyone else here. We all come to heal, and we all come to live a little better.
We cannot guarantee specific outcomes, and any experiences shared by past participants may not reflect your own. Ayahuasca may serve as a meaningful piece of your personal healing journey — offering insight, clarity, and transformation — but its effects are most lasting when supported by ongoing integration and a genuine commitment to growth over time.
