Stories - 1001 Nights of Ayahuasca Review from Veteran
Ex-Army Veteran
I attended this retreat recently and was very guarded about it initially. I have Complex PTSD from my days in the Army and have had 100’s of hours of counselling, many SSRI’s and different medications, Deep TMS, BWRT therapy etc. The 7 day retreat was a life changer for me. Oliver and the team are just amazing and so patient and knowledgable. The ceremonies, music, food and accommodation was more than I could have asked for and exceeded my expectations and I felt very secure both in and out of the ceremonies. The singers, advice from Oli and the team and the medicine have given me a new path in life, I have purpose again, energy and motivation for the first time in a long time. The medicine taught me a lot about myself and has enabled me to get over my past and put it behind me, forgiveness is a powerful thing. The whole agenda works so well, and the ice bath, massage and other elements of the programme slotted in nicely. Very grateful for the experience. I am excited to see where the next few weeks and months lead as I have not long left the retreat but am confident. Amazing.

FAQ - Ayahuasca for Veterans
Common questions from veterans and ex-service people considering this path.
Many veterans search for alternative ways to heal from PTSD when traditional treatments haven’t fully worked. Ayahuasca may help bring buried trauma, memories, and emotional patterns to the surface for processing. While it is not a medical treatment or cure, many veterans report gaining clarity, emotional release, and a renewed sense of peace.
Many veterans experience depression, anxiety, or a sense of disconnection after service. Ayahuasca can sometimes help people reconnect with themselves, process grief, and uncover patterns contributing to emotional suffering. Here at Harmonica Retreat we have safely helped many veterans on their path to finding their peace, it has been beautiful to witness.
See upcoming ceremonies.Yes - full confidentiality is one of Harmonica's three foundational agreements alongside respect and non-judgment. What happens at the retreat stays at the retreat. Groups are capped at max 12 participants, creating a private, trust-based environment. Many guests are founders, executives, and public-facing professionals who require discretion.
More veterans are exploring ayahuasca as an alternative path for healing trauma, PTSD, depression, and emotional pain. Many are looking for deeper healing beyond symptom management — seeking meaning, reconnection, and emotional freedom after military service.
Integration support after the retreat helps you sustain the shift.
