Ayahuasca for panic attacks
Panic attacks can take over your life — ayahuasca may help
Panic attacks aren't just unpleasant moments. For many people, the fear of the next one becomes as debilitating as the attacks themselves.
Ayahuasca works at a deeper level than most conventional treatments — addressing the root patterns of anxiety rather than managing symptoms.
Many guests arrive at Harmonica having tried therapy, medication, and breathwork — and still feel ruled by panic.
What's actually driving your panic attacks
What our guests experience
Over five years of facilitating retreats, we've welcomed many guests who came specifically because panic attacks were disrupting their work, relationships, and sense of self. What we hear most often after the retreat:
- A quieter baseline - less background anxiety day to day
- Panic attacks becoming less frequent shorter, or easier to move through
- A new relationship with fear itself - less avoidance, more trust in the body
- Clarity on what had been driving the anxiety beneath the surface
These aren't guaranteed outcomes. But they're common ones, and they tend to hold when integration is taken seriously.

How we support you if panic arises during ceremony
Some guests do experience panic-like sensations during the ceremony itself. This is normal and, in our experience, often marks a turning point in the process.
Our ceremony team — led by Sergio, our resident Yagecero — is trained to hold difficult moments calmly and skillfully. Additionally, there are various ways to support you in those moments.

Is ayahuasca right for you right now to overcome your panic attacks?
Ayahuasca isn't the right fit for everyone, and we take that seriously. Certain medications — particularly SSRIs and benzodiazepines — require a careful tapering process before a retreat is safe. Some psychiatric profiles need more stabilization before this kind of work is appropriate. Every application is reviewed individually by our medical team. If we don't think the timing is right, we'll tell you — and we'll suggest what might help you get there.
Ayahuasca is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological treatment. It is not a cure for any physical, mental, or emotional condition, and individual experiences vary significantly based on each person’s unique history, intentions, and circumstances. All prospective participants are required to complete a thorough health screening prior to attendance, as ayahuasca carries real risks for individuals with certain medical conditions or those taking contraindicated medications.
We cannot guarantee specific outcomes, and any experiences shared by past participants may not reflect your own. Ayahuasca may serve as a meaningful piece of your personal healing journey — offering insight, clarity, and transformation — but its effects are most lasting when supported by ongoing integration and a genuine commitment to growth over time.
