Safe Ayahuasca Retreat for LGBTQ individuals
Find a non- judgemental place to heal and connect with yourself on the deepest level
- Judgement - Facing constant scrutiny for who you are.
- Stigma - Society's prejudice affecting how you're treated daily.
- Internalized Shame - Believing the negative messages you've absorbed deeply.
- Receiving Rejection - Being pushed away by family, friends, or community.
- Questioning Yourself - Doubting your worth and right to exist and express yourself fully.
With skill, compassion, and an affirming container, ayahuasca can help transform old patterns into steadier resilience, self-acceptance, and recovery.

I had the privilege to attend a 1 week retreat in August. The staff (Oliver, Jenna, and others) are humble and truly care about your experience. It was a challenging yet very rewarding week, and I grew closer to other participants as the retreat progressed.
The plant medicine and shamanic healing has allowed me to make positive lifestyle changes. It allows for healing of generational trauma and childhood wounds. Taking part in a retreat of this nature can be scary or daunting, but it’s very much worth it coming out the other side.

My 7-day retreat has been a true paradigm shift as well as a challenging yet rewarding journey. I’m proud of the way that myself and other brave souls managed to challenge our minds and bodies in ways unimaginable. Doing inner work is NEVER easy, but the only way out is always through. I thank Oliver, Kevin, Jenna, Vanessa, and everyone else who contributed to my divine experience. Food is well-balanced and can accommodate your diet. I strongly recommend 4 ceremonies instead of 2, as you may not connect with the medicine right away. Namaste 🙏🏼

I came after many therapies that only helped temporarily, and—with Oliver’s guidance, thoughtful preparation, and a welcoming environment—the first ceremony steadied me while the second became a breakthrough where decades of pain released. I left replacing hate with love, finding forgiveness and real peace, and I’m grateful to the team and eager to return with my son.

Frequently Asked Questions: Queer Ayahuasca
What is queer ayahuasca, and how is it different from other retreats?
Queer ayahuasca refers to ayahuasca work held in an LGBTQIA+-affirming container—where identity, sexuality, and lived experience are respected rather than overlooked. At Harmonica, this means inclusive language, consent-first culture, and facilitators experienced in holding space for queer-specific themes like identity, stigma, and belonging.
Is this retreat only for LGBTQIA+ participants?
This page is designed for LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking a queer-affirming ayahuasca experience. While Harmonica welcomes diverse guests overall, this offering prioritizes emotional safety, understanding, and shared context for queer participants who want to feel fully seen and respected.
How do you ensure confidentiality and privacy for LGBTQIA+ guests?
Confidentiality is a core agreement. Personal stories, identities, and experiences shared during ceremony or integration are never disclosed outside the group. Pronouns, boundaries, and privacy are respected at all times—creating a space where you don’t need to explain or protect who you are.
What kinds of issues do people explore in queer ayahuasca work?
Guests often work with themes such as identity integration, internalized shame, coming out experiences, relationship patterns, family rejection, life transitions, and reclaiming self-worth. Ayahuasca can help surface these experiences gently, while integration support helps translate insight into daily life.
How is integration handled after a queer ayahuasca retreat?
Integration is ongoing. Harmonica offers continued support after the retreat, including scheduled integration calls, reflection tools, and community connection. This helps ensure insights around identity, boundaries, and self-acceptance are grounded and supported long-term.
Is queer ayahuasca safe if I’ve experienced discrimination or trauma?
Yes—when approached carefully. Many LGBTQIA+ guests carry nervous-system stress from past stigma or rejection. The retreat uses trauma-aware practices, small groups (max 12), and a safety-first approach so you can move at your own pace without pressure or judgment.
